inclusive
The sin phiS amplitudes of the inclusive asymmetry AUT in dependence of xB, measured with an electron beam (top) and a positron beam (center). The open (closed) circles identify the data with Q2 < 1 GeV2 (Q2 > 1 GeV2). The error bars show the statistical uncertainties, while the error boxes show the systematic uncertainties. The asymmetries integrated over xB are shown on the left. Bottom panel: average Q2 vs. xB from data (squares), and the fraction of elastic background events to the total event sample from a Monte Carlo simulation (triangles)

The 23 SDMEs extracted from rho0 data: proton (squares) and deuteron (circles) in the entire HERMES kinematics with < xB>=0.08, < Q2>= 1.95GeV2, <-t'>=0.13GeV2. The SDMEs are multiplied by prefactors in order to represent the normalized leading contribution of the corresponding amplitude. The inner error bars represent the statistical uncertainties, while the outer ones indicate the statistical and systematic uncertainties added in quadrature. SDMEs measured with unpolarized (polarized) beam are displayed in the unshaded (shaded) areas. The vertical dashed line at zero is indicated for SDMEs expected to be zero under the hypothesis of SCHC

Virtual photon Collins moments for charged pions as function of x, z and $P_{h\perp}$ compared to theoretical curves from [Efremov et al. hep-ph/0603054]. For the x-dependence the data are fitted using always a gaussian ansatz and a cQSM for the transversity function from [PRD64(2001),034013] to obtain a value for the favoured and unfavoured Collins ff (Eqn. 10 and 11 in hep-ph/0603054). In contrast, for the z dependence the curves are based on a fit of the Collins ff to the BELLE data and on the same cQSModel for the transversity function. The light shaded area indicates the sensitivity of the SSA to the unknown ratio of the gaussian width of h1 and H1^\perp

The relative size of the lepton (dashed line) and hadron distributions (solid line) was scaled to the flux ratio in the respective data--taking periods to give a better idea of the level of contamination possible from each detector. Acceptable uncertainties of $\alphar$ and $\depol_{WD}$ (differences among the three horizontal dotted lines) can be achieved only with $\alphar^{TGA}$ and $\depol_{WD}^{BRP}$ close to unity (vertical dotted lines). Schematic view (from downstream of the electron beam) of the HERMES ABS with dissociator and collimator for beam formation. Two sets of sextupole magnets are located along the beam axis as are the high-frequency transitions. The axis of the ABS is tilted by $30^\circ$ downwards with respect to the horizontal plane

Transverse magnet field uniformity measured along the {\it{z}} axis at the nominal field strength B=297 mT. Deviations of \Delta By=0.15 mT (vert.) and \Delta Bx=0.60 mT (horiz.) have been measured within the cell volume

From left to right: Atomic Beam Source (ABS), target chamber with cell and magnet, and diagnostic system composed by Target Gas Analyzer (TGA) and Breit-Rabi Polarimeter (BRP). The locations of the radio-frequency transition (RFT) units are indicated

pentaquark
Invariant mass distribution of the p\pi^-\pi^-\pi^+$(plus c.c.) system, subject to the constraints in event topology discussed in the text. The mixed-event background is represented by the gray shaded histogram, which is normalized to the background component of the fitted curve described in the text. The arrow shows the hypothetical \Xi^{0}_{3/2} mass. The excess near 1.77GeV has a statistical significance of only 1.8 \sigma
